NEXi Privacy Policy

Connex2x ("we", "our", or "us") operates the NEXi mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and login credentials. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device.

Location Data

NEXi collects precise location data (GPS) to provide turn-by-turn navigation, traffic light optimization (GLOSA), trip tracking, and incident reporting. Background location access is used to maintain navigation and trip tracking when the app is not in the foreground.

Camera and Photos

The camera is used for Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) to photograph vehicle defects and conditions. Photos are uploaded to our servers for inspection records.

Microphone and Audio

The microphone is used for voice commands ("Hey Nexi" wake word detection) and speech-to-text for hands-free operation while driving. Audio is processed for transcription and is not stored permanently.

Vehicle Diagnostics

When connected to an OBD2 Bluetooth adapter, the app collects vehicle diagnostic data including speed, RPM, fuel level, engine codes, and other telemetry data.

Usage Data

We collect app usage data, crash reports (via Sentry), and driving behavior metrics to improve the app and provide driver safety insights.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Fleet managers — If you are part of an organization, your trip data and inspection reports may be visible to your fleet manager.
• Service providers — We use third-party services for maps (HERE Technologies), speech processing (OpenAI Whisper), error tracking (Sentry), and wake word detection (Houndify). These providers process data according to their own privacy policies.
• Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your authentication credentials are stored using Android's encrypted shared preferences. Data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted. We retain trip and inspection data for as long as your account is active.

7. Children's Privacy

NEXi is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
